MEET DR. DHALIWAL

BIO

Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD, a board-certified anesthesiologist, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of subacute, chronic, persistent and intractable pain and related disorders. Dr. Dhaliwal founded the SEVA Pain Institute in Tracy, California, with the purpose of educating and empowering people to be active participants in the management of their chronic pain, while minimizing the use of opioid medications.

A compassionate, patient-focused physician, Dr. Dhaliwal helps people avoid surgery, make lifestyle changes, and improve their quality of life. He is an expert in a wide range of pain management techniques, including peripheral nerve blocks, epidural and facet injections of the spine, regenerative therapies, such as platelet-rich plasma and stem cell therapy, as well as advanced interventional techniques, including minimally invasive lumbar decompression, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, and spinal cord stimulation.

Dr. Dhaliwal is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain medicine.

Born and raised in Turlock, California, Dr. Dhaliwal obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology at Sacramento State University in Sacramento, California. He went on to medical school, graduating with high honors. Subsequently, he completed two years of training in general surgery prior to completing a residency in anesthesiology at the University of California in Los Angeles.

Dr. Dhaliwal had the honor of continuing his training with an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited fellowship in pain medicine at one of the most prestigious programs in the country, the Cleveland Clinic, a multispecialty academic hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. During his time there, he had the privilege of working under the mentorship of world-renowned pioneers in pain medicine and neuromodulation.
